Projects...

You may or may not have seen these projects I have done in the last about 6 months or so, but I thought I would post them in case you haven't.

I made this out of a wood record box lid I got at a yard sale and thought it would look cool, and I really like it. I hung this in our bedroom.

My dad actually found this storage/bookcase at a yard sale for $25

With a little cleaning and paint.....

I love the brightness and color it brings into our kitchen/living room area!

I was looking for something new to put in our front bathroom and came up with this...

I just took a shadowbox frame I had laying around and put a sand dollar that Shaun found in Seaside while we were there for Dallin and Christy's wedding.

(Don't mind the reflection of my hand in the glass!) I just painted a canvas with the word "smile", just as a reminder to add color.

Then I added this rug... Which I also made!
It is a macrame celtic knot that I made with 5/8 in cotton rope!

I sense a color scheme here... I actually did't until I put them all in one place! Any guesses what my favorite color is?

Big Girl Bed!

Kadence is a big girl! I have mixed emotions about that! I will be honest I may or may not have cried the first night Kadence slept in her new bed... I know I am pretty pathetic. She is just growing up too fast!
So as you can see her crib just converts into a toddler bed, which I think make the transition a lot easier.
Kadence did very well and for the most part really likes sleeping in her "Big Girl Bed." The first night she woke up a few times and only got out once by herself. Other then that she has done great. The only thing is she will not sleep under the comforter. She still likes her soft blankets over and under her. Anyone know where I can get blanket sheets?! Ha, I don't mind really, at least she is sleeping.

Here is Kadence's comforter, and yes I made it!! Woot! My first quilt! I made it a twin size so when we get her a twin bed it will fit on that as well as her toddler bed. We just had to turn it sideways and stuff the extra under and behind this bed, but you can't even tell! The bed is not quite finished yet, I need to make a pillowcase and get some cute sheets (I'm thinking bright pink).

Shaun: "I hope you sleep like a rock Kadence."
Kadence: "No, not a rock, like Kadence!"

"From the mouth of babes..."

So this is an actual conversation Kadence and Shaun had tonight... It lasted like 15 minutes, so I condensed a little:

Kadence: "Baby brother sad, he no could come yet to my house."
Shaun: Why is he sad?
Kadence: "Because he no come yet to my house!... Baby sister sad."
Shaun: Why is she sad?
Kadence: She is coming to my house!
Shaun: When is she coming to your house?
Kadence: "I have to read the scriptures, it's at the end." (Opens the scriptures.)
Kadence: They come at same time.
Shaun: Who comes at the same time?
Kadence: Brother and sister.
Kadence lays on the floor looking at the ceiling: : "5 us!"
Shaun: There are 5 of us?
Kadence: Ya!
Shaun: So where are baby brother and baby sister?
Kadence: Baby brother up the mount.
Shaun: Oh really, where's that?
Kadence: On the roof. Jesus on the mount.
Shaun: Is that where Jesus lives?
Kadence: No in the temple. Jesus Christ child of God!

So I just wanted to document this to see if this really happens. Because apparently to her we will have twins next and there will be 5 of us.... Weird that I keep having dreams that we have twins... and that scares the crap out of me by the way! So I guess if you could all pray that that doesn't happen, that would be great!

Just thought I would post a few cute pictures of Kadence since it's been a while!

She loves her shoes (and mommy's too)!

She LOVES her new chair! And she knows that it's hers because it has her name on it! Trust me I wouldn't try sitting in it!

Playing in the snow!
We had enough to play in for about a week, then it all melted. Not complaining!

Her first snow angle!

And this is how good potty training is going.... don't ask!
